Even though I take photos year round, nothing compares to that first planned spring shoot of the year.  The trees are green, the sun is shining and my couples don’t have to shiver between frames. Allie and Connor had the perfect day for their engagement shoot.  The weekend before it rained both days, and the days after it was a sweltering 90 degrees.  The bright skies matched their bright smiles.

Isn’t that ring stunning! It totally matches Allie’s personality.  I am not sure if Connor picked it out himself, but he definitely should take the credit.

A few weeks before our planned photo shoot, we talked about what they wanted to capture that evening.  We mixed in some traditional portraits along with some detail shots at Washington Square Park.  Washington Square is one of my favorite places to photograph in Philadelphia.  It is less crowded than Rittenhouse Square and has these great brick walls around the edges.   The backgrounds are great for any kind of shoot, from weddings, to engagement sessions, and even headshots.

After walking/dancing around the square, we headed down towards the river, finding some interesting streets and architecture along the way.

After a quick change of wardrobe at the Hilton, we finished off the evening at the Spruce Street Harbor Park where we had a bit more fun swinging in the hammocks and walking the river.

(when the last photo of the evening is your absolute favorite!!)

Allie and Connor will be getting married at the Hilton at Penn’s Landing next spring.  The ballroom looks over the very park where we finished photographing that evening.  We plan on doing some awesome nights shots since the park is lit at night.  Follow my facebook page for more sneak peeks and to help stay connected.
